The creation of compelling visual imagery is a way of life for Moya. She began her career as a visual artist at 21, working as a free lance interior designer in San Francisco. Graphic design was the natural evolution of her drive to bring beauty and organization to chaos. For 22 years Moya created award winning packaging and corporate identity marketing materials for the wine and body care industry.
Moya taught Media Awareness as a guest teacher at Sonoma State University in the Women's Studies program. Blending political and artistic expression she designed sets for the Northern California productions of Vagina Monologues.
Making film reflects her personal journey of meaningful storytelling. Her first short film Edible premiered in Hollywood at the REEL WOMEN International Film Festival and was nominated for best NORCAL Short. She is in the process of developing a full length docudrama, The Taste of Love.
She is also currently working on her feature narrative film, Cesarita (working title), which is inspired by the life of her Great Great Grandmother as a courtesan in New Mexico during the 1800’s. She is driven to have it “in the can” by fall of 2008.
