Joanna Shellman, Production Manager

Joanna Shellman started using film to tell stories
in her childhood. She filmed and edited experimental
home movies in her early teens, producing her first film
at fourteen years old. While getting her degree in French,
Joanna took film courses at UC Berkeley. 

Once graduated,  Joanna worked as a production assistant
for Nolte Media in Santa Rosa, where she helped produce
The Russian River: A Historical Perspective. She quickly
advanced to a producer’s job, where she handled every aspect
of production from inception to completion. She has learned
all the areas required for successful filmmaking, including
writing, production management, camera operating, and
editing on AVID.

Joanna’s passion for story telling combines with her broad
experience to contribute an essential role in Born of Woman Films.
